KELLEY CIAMPI

I hold a Master’s Degree and am a certified general and special education teacher in Massachusetts with 25 years of experience. I work with kids in grades K-12 in the areas of reading comprehension, decoding, math, executive function/organization, test-taking skills, and I couple this with Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)/ tapping. I worked in the Newton Public School system for 10 years in a 5th grade classroom with general education students and students with language based learning disabilities. I live with two amazing teenagers; my daughter is in high school and my son attends college in Colorado. We also have a great dog named Stella. In my free time, you can find me at lots of concerts. I also love to cook, hike with Stella, travel, read, and spend time with family and friends.

Here are a few more specifics:

First, I like to give kids a toolbox, and teach them skills and strategies that they can use in whatever areas they need. This helps to raise their self-esteem and self-confidence, and they see success in areas that they may have struggled in. I am flexible and use all the tools, trainings, certifications, and approaches I have to create an individualized approach that works for each student. I found EFT through my own growth and development in the midst of my work with a child in crisis. I investigated ways to calm the nervous system to allow the brain to function and was amazed at the results using EFT. Tapping and nervous system work became a passion and is instrumental in differentiating tutoring and the learning process. In addition, a strength of mine is connecting with kids and building a strong rapport. I think this is such an important part of tutoring!
